12th stakes winner of 2014 for Speightstown

Wine Police out-dueled Homerun Berti in Sunday’s $75,000 Premier Cup H. at Zia Park to collect his third lifetime black-type victory and give his sire Speightstown his 12th stakes winner of 2014 and simultaneously push the top-10 sire’s progeny earnings past the $6.5 million mark.

Wine Police chased Homerun Berti through most of the 5 ½-furlongs, collaring his foe inside the final furlong and going on to win by 1 ¾-lengths in 1:04.93 over a muddy surface (VIDEO).
