Elliott Walden's letter to breeders
Wednesday, November 20, 2013

Dear Breeder,

As I reflect on 2013, I see a year filled with positive trends in so many areas of the Thoroughbred industry. WinStar was fortunate to share in a banner year, and I’m proud of how well our expanded stallion roster was received. We remain humbled and thankful by your continued support, and we will continue to operate with the perspective of putting our valued breeders first.

Our motto and slogan at WinStar is “Dream Big”, and we’re doing that again for 2014. WinStar has invested to be in the position for an even bigger and better year for our breeders and our entire operation. We’re thrilled to again offer what we believe to be the best and most diverse stallion roster in North America, with 23 stallions that truly offer a valuable option to every breeder in the market. It remains important to us to bring in the right new stallion prospects, which is why for 2014 we secured Paynter, Take Charge Indy, and Overanalyze – all Grade 1-winning 3-year-olds around two turns on DIRT with top pedigrees and physicals that conform to the traditions and ideals of both American racing and WinStar’s breeding program.

All of that remains consistent with what we strived to do last breeding season.

Our goal for 2014 is to dream bigger, for both WinStar and our breeders.

I’m happy to announce WinStar is launching its first ever breeders’ rewards initiative called the Dream Big Incentives program – a simple, common-sense approach that offers substantial savings to breeders on most WinStar stallions. We want to reward breeders more than ever for their continued loyalty, trust, and volume of business, and while we feel our stud fees are marketed as competitively and fairly as any farm out there, you will pay less depending on your level of support.

We have always believed in a transparent and consistent pricing experience, and the Dream Big Incentives program is the only thing that will affect the integrity of our pricing by honoring the commitment of our most invested clients with significant savings on stud fees. It’s simple: The more you breed, the more you save.

At WinStar, we will always be about the highest of quality and best of customer service that this industry has to offer. Nothing less. WinStar also remains committed to commercial breeders at the sales, and we will continue our proven methods of support. Now with our Dream Big Incentives program, we hope breeders can feel more confident than ever about breeding to a quality WinStar stallion and improving their costs – whether it is breeding to race or sell.

To learn how our Dream Big Incentives program can work for you, please allow our dedicated sales team of Darren Fox, Chance Timm, and Leanna Packard to help. Our job is not complete until we find the best fit for your mare and budget.

I thank you for your support and for breeding at WinStar. I hope you too are Dreaming Big in 2014.

Sincerely,

Elliott Walden
