$270,000 Paynter colt Tuesday at Fasig-Tipton Midlantic

Paynter’s 2-year-olds continue to bring top prices in the sales ring, the latest a $270,000 colt during the second day of the May 22-23 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic Two-Year-Olds in Training sale.

From the first crop of the WinStar stallion, the bay juvenile was consigned by Paul Sharp, agent, while Mike Ryan, agent came away the winning bidder on hip No. 362. Ryan was also the winning bidder, at $150,000, on Paynter’s colt, hip No. 199, during Monday’s session.

The Kentucky-bred colt is out of the Pulpit mare Ellie Boo, an unraced full sister to stakes-placed Pulpit’s Treasure. 

Paynter’s 2-year-olds have brought up to $425,000 during this year’s auction season, while his overall 2017 sales average is nearly five times his stud fee.
