$350,000 colt highlights Fasig-Tipton Tuesday results for Carpe Diem

The robust results continued for Carpe Diem during Tuesday’s closing session of the Aug. 6-7 Saratoga Select Yearlings sale, with a colt from the first crop of the WinStar stallion for $350,000.

Consigned by St. George Sales, agent, hip No. 175 went to Thomas Haughey for PTK, LLC, who also purchased Carpe Diem’s hip No. 73, a filly, on Monday evening for $180,000. Tuesday’s colt is out of Betty’s Solution, dam of eight winners, topped by Mother Goose S. (G1) winner Include Betty.

Carpe Diem had a total of six lots sell over the two-day auction, for an average of $278,333, more than 11 times his bred-on stud fee.
