A Distorted Humor colt brought a $500,000 bid on the second day of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall yearling sale Oct. 22. The price is the second-highest overall at the three day auction, and the top price paid for a colt.
Consigned as hip No. 384 by Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, agent, the winning bid came from trainer Mark Casse on behalf of Ernie Semersky and Dory Newell’s Conquest Stables.
“He had a lot of leg, length, and strength,” the Woodbine based trainer said. “He was the entire package. I am always in the market for a good Ontario-bred. I actually thought he might go for more,”
Named Hot Humor, the chestnut colt is out of Annasan, a Corporate Report mare who was named Canada’s 2004 Broodmare of the Year and is the dam of Canadian champion A Bit O’Gold and stakes winner Arco’s Gold.
