Another banner day for Colonel John at OBS

Following up on the success of opening day of the OBS Spring 2-year-olds in training sale, Colonel John topped his auction-best result with a $300,000 filly selling on day 3 of the April 22-25 auction. The sale price is one of the top 10 highest paid through the first three days of the auction

On Wednesday, hip No. 701, consigned by Scanlon Training Center, agent, went to Conquest Stables LLC. The filly, bred in Florida by Sally J. Andersen, worked an eighth at the under tack show in :10 1/5 seconds.

The bay filly is out of the Smart Strike mare More Oats Please, who is a half-sister to six-time stakes winner Miss Valentine and a direct female line descendant of Grade 2 Apple Blossom H. winner Miss Baja.

Through the first three days of the sale, Colonel John’s five juveniles sold have brought an average of $170,000, the best figure by some $60,000 for all sires at the sale with seven or more offerings.
