Drosselmeyer colt brings $300,000 at Fasig-Tipton Saratoga sale

Drosselmeyer’s $300,000 colt during day one of the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Selected Yearlings sale set a new high-water mark for a juvenile from the first crop of the WinStar stallion.

Alex and JoAnn Lieblong were the winning bidders on the bay Kentucky-bred colt from the Gainesway consignment. The colt is a half-brother to King Cyrus, the stakes-placed son of Bellamy Road. The pedigree runs deep on the colt; his third dam is the millionaire and four-time Grade 1 winner Dispute, a sister to Champagne S. (G1) winner Adjudicating.
