Fast Bullet, Leading Sprinter by Speightstown, to WinStar for 2015

Fast Bullet, the aptly-named Grade 2 winner by Speightstown, will join his sire at WinStar Farm for the 2015 breeding season.

“Fast Bullet is the fastest son of Speightstown, who has really developed into one of today’s elite stallions,” said Elliott Walden. “Speightstown has enormous sire-of-sires potential with his great pedigree, and there isn’t a better-looking or more-talented candidate to do it than Fast Bullet. He mirrors him in every way: looks, class, and ‘God speed’ as Bob Baffert put it.”

Campaigned by Zayat Stables, Fast Bullet stood his first season in 2014 at Ben & Elaine Walden’s Pauls Mill, which will not stand stallions in 2015.

“Mr. Zayat knew how much I liked the horse, but we had committed to standing three new stallions already last year. When Ben decided he was getting out of the stallion business I told Mr. Z we had to have him at WinStar,” he added. “We’ve seen what works with his sire, so I believe it’s a great fit.”

Fast Bullet was one of North America’s leading sprinters in 2013. The chestnut horse won four of his first five starts by an average margin of victory of five lengths, including a handy 2 ½-length win over Grade 1 winner Justin Phillip in the True North H. (G2) on Belmont Stakes day. Fast Bullet earned a 110 Beyer for the performance, topping the 109 Beyer earned in his previous start romping to victory in an allowance race at Hollywood Park.

An earner of $330,334, Fast Bullet hails out of a daughter of Eclipse Champion and Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner Brave Raj.
