Champion juvenile sire Harlan’s Holiday established a North American record for two-year-old earnings in a single year with $2,954,556 accounted for through Dec. 31, 2012.
Harlan’s Holiday, who stands at WinStar Farm in Versailles, eclipsed the previous record of $2,811,337 set in 2008 by Tapit. The record juvenile earnings prior to Tapit was set in 1996 by Capote, whose two-year-olds earned $2,759,053.

The 2012 two-year-olds by Harlan’s Holiday encompass 26 winners and five stakes winners, led by Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) winner and champion pro tem Shanghai Bobby.
Harlan’s Holiday joins a prestigious roster of stallions whose juveniles have earned over $2,000,000 in one season, including his grandsire Storm Cat who led the juvenile sires list in 2002 with $2,326,588 in earnings. Danzig was the first North American stallion to do it, siring $2,154,858 in 1984.
Harlan’s Holiday also ranked 11th on the 2012 General Sires List, with $7,442,696 in overall progeny earnings. The son of Harlan out of Christmas In Aiken, by Affirmed, will stand the 2013 season at WinStar for $35,000 stands and nurses.
