More G1 success for Distorted Humor

Cursory Glance stamped herself as one of the top 2-year-old fillies in Europe with a courageous victory in the Group 1 Moyglare Stud S. during Irish Champions weekend at The Curragh. She is one of Distorted Humor’s six stakes winner this year, and one of two, along with Fire With Fire, who are multiple graded stakes winners in 2014.

Cursory Glance sat in sixth place in the early stages of the seven furlong race, then moved closer to the pacesetters two furlongs out, taking over inside the final furlong to win by a neck.

Trainer Roger Varian said: “It’s great she has won – she’s shown herself to be very good. If you looked at her pedigree you could say that she might stay further (than a mile) but she has always shown plenty of speed.”

With the victory, Cursory Glance is guaranteed a spot in the starting gate for this year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1) as part of the “Win and You’re In” Challenge series.

Cursory Glance was bred in Kentucky by her owner Merry Fox Stud Ltd. She was a winner of the Albany S. (G3) at Royal Ascot in June and second in the Group 2 Lowther S. at York on Aug. 21.
