More Tiznow fireworks at Keeneland sale as colt brings $1.35M

Tiznow’s “big horse” reputation rolled on at the Keeneland sale on Thursday when a colt by the perennial leading sire brought a winning bid of $1.35 million early in the fourth session of the Sept. 8-21 sale.

The regally-bred colt, named Tour de Force, was consigned by Lane’s End for his breeder Kinsman Farm and purchased by Mark Casse on behalf of John Oxley following a spirited bidding war with Hall of Famer D. Wayne Lukas.

The bay juvenile is out of the millionaire Dream Supreme, winner of the Ballerina H. (G1), Test S. (G1) and four additional graded events. The Seeking the Gold mare has been equally prolific in the breeding shed, producing Grade 1 Hopeful S. winner Majestic Warrior and stakes winners Evolutionist and Crystal Current.

Midway through the first four sessions of the sale, Tiznow’s average, with 12 yearlings sold, is $405,417.
