Artie Schiller filly headed to Royal Ascot after Belmont win

Back at the Ranch cruised to a sharp 2 ¼-length maiden special weight score May 7 at Belmont Park, prompting her trainer Wesley Ward to consider shipping the 2-year-old daughter of Artie Schiller to the prestigious June 16-20 Royal Ascot meeting.

Ward has taken horses to England for the Ascot meeting in the past, tasting success on several occasions. The meet has several stakes for 2-year-old fillies, including the Group 2 Queen Mary S. and Group 3 Albany S.

Back at the Ranch covered the five furlongs in :58.84 seconds, earning a very good Beyer Speed Figure of 74. The Kentucky-bred filly is owned by Michael Dubb, who paid $110,000 for her at the 2014 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
