Big numbers at Keeneland continue for Bodemeister

A $400,000 filly topped Bodemeister’s returns Thursday at the Keeneland September Yearling sale, the highest price paid for a filly by the WinStar stallion through the first four days of the auction.

Dromoland Farm, Inc. consigned hip No. 1068, which went to Mathis Stables.

The bay filly is the first foal out of Bryan’s Jewel, a graded stakes winner of nearly a half-million dollars. Her dam Saphiria is a sister to Champion Older Male Left Bank.

Prior to Thursday’s session, Bodemeister was represented by a $700,000 colt on Wednesday. He has 45 lots remaining in the sale, which resumes on Saturday and runs through Sept. 23.
