Bluegrass Cat tops $5M earnings in 2013

Elusive Blueboy dominated the $50,000 Excellent Luck S. Saturday at Calder to become the ninth stakes winner of the year for Bluegrass Cat (VIDEO). The WinStar stallion tops the New York sires list in several categories, including winners, stakes winners, and progeny earnings of nearly $5.1 million.

Two-year-old Elusive Blueboy, bred and owned by David Garner, sat in second early, then engaged pacestter Mystical Myles at the head of the lane. The duo battled for close to a furlong, then Elusive Blueboy dispatched his rival to hit the wire a 2 3/4-length winner in 1:05.50 for the 5 1/2-furlongs.

Elusive Blueboy has won two of his three lifetime starts, with one second. He has earned $54,800.
