Bodemeister colt realizes $195K Tuesday at Keeneland

Bodemeister had one of the top-selling yearlings during Tuesday’s session of the Jan. 9-13 Keeneland Horses of All Ages sale when a colt brought a winning bid of $195,000.

Consigned by Brookdale Sales, agent, hip No. 624 went to High Speed Stables. The bay juvenile was bred in Kentucky and is out of the stakes-winning mare Yes She’s A Lady, whose dam Wonder Lady is a sister to multiple Grade 1 winner and millionaire Pure Clan and multiple graded stakes winner Greater Good.

Bodemeister’s first crop of runners included 15 winners of $993,948, led by the two-time stakes-winning filly Bode’s Dream, who kicked off 2017 with a solid second in the Old Hat S. His dynamic 3-year-old colt also showed plenty of heart when he just got nosed out in the Sham S. (G3) on Jan. 7, his first start against winners.
