Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) looms for Tourist

Tiznow’s Grade 1-winning millionaire Tourist has been pre-entered in the Nov. 5 Breeders’ Cup Mile (G1) at Santa Anita Park, his third consecutive start in the $2 million contest.

Tourist is the latest Grade 1 winner and millionaire for Tiznow, who is still the only two-time winner of the Breeders’ Cup Classic (G1). He has been just as successful at stud, with 35 Graded Stakes winners and nearly $70 million in progeny earnings to date.

Tourist has run in Grade 1’s in nine of his last ten starts, winning the Fourstardave H. (G1) at Saratoga this August, and placing in five other events. The 5-year-old horse , owned by WinStar Farm, Adam Wachtel and Gary Barber, has been in the top three in 10 of his 13 lifetime turf starts.

Official post positions for the Breeders’ Cup will be drawn on Oct. 31.
