Commissioner colt goes for $220,000 at Keeneland Yearling sale

Commissioner, whose first crop are yearlings of 2018, had a new personal auction best during the Keeneland September Yearling sale when hip No. 2232 brought a winning bid of $220,000.

Maverick Racing was the winning bidder for the colt from the Taylor Made Sales Agency consignment. 

Named Glory Road, the dark bay is the first foal out of Highest Quality an unraced daughter of Quality Road. Highest Quality is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Shadow Rock, while her dam Dream Time is a sister to the multiple Grade 1 winner Finder’s Fee.

Commissioner, a three-time stakes winner who also finished second in the Belmont S. (G1), visited 365 mares in his first three seasons at stud. He will stand at WinStar Farm in 2019 for $7,500 stands and nurses.
