Congrats filly sparkles in $75,000 Gold Mover S.

Flutterby turned in another stellar performance in Saturday’s $75,000 Gold Mover S. at Gulfstream Park, coasting to a front-running, 3 ¼-length win, the third career stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Congrats.

Bred, owned and trained by 94-year-old Jerry Bozzo, Flutterby left her venerable conditioner almost speechless afterward.

“I’ve run out of adjectives,” Bozzo said. “(She) is so honest. I knew she was going to run that way today. She told me so herself, and she did.”

“She did it easy,” said her jockey Luca Panici, echoing Bozzo’s sentiments.“She was a little tough in the beginning (when confronted by Ultimate Shopper) but when she understood she relaxed a bit. I just touched her a few times in the stretch to keep her attention, but she was good today.”

Flutterby has really come into her own this summer, winning two of her last three starts, all in stakes competition at Gulfstream. With Saturday’s victory, she has now earned $289,908.

Flutterby is one of nine stakes horses this year for Congrats, who is also a top 5 General Sire by winners in 2015, with 109 to date.
