Daredevil’s first Keeneland weanlings bring six figures on Thursday

Daredevil, the Grade 1 winner whose first crop are weanlings of 2017, had two fillies top the six-figure mark during Thursday’s session of the Keeneland November Sale. 

The top price of the day for the WinStar stallion was hip No. 554, consigned by Hunter Valley Farm and purchased by Baccari Bloodstock for $150,000. The dark bay filly is out of the stakes-winning mare Holy Blitz, who is also the dam of Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) winner and Eclipse champion Judy the Beauty.

Later in the session, hip No. 669, consigned by Bluewater Sales LLC, agent, went to International Equities Holding Inc. for $140,000. The very well-bred filly is the first foal out of the Mineshaft mare Purrfectly Mine, who is a half-sister to Hollywood Oaks (G2) champ Santa Catarina.

Daredevil, a popular young stallion, bred an average of nearly 120 mares his first two books. His fee at WinStar in 2018 was recently announced at $7,500 stands and nurses
