Distorted Humor colt racks up second career stakes win

Five Star General, winner of the $100,000 Central Park S. at Aqueduct last autumn, scored his second stakes win on Aug. 5 with a 2 1/4-length tally in the $50,000 Sir Winston Churchill Derby Trial at Hastings Park.

Also stakes-placed on the Delaware Park turf in June, Five Star General upped his earnings to $129,343 for the North American Thoroughbred Horse Company.

The bay colt moved from third to first before hitting the half-way point in the 1 1/16-mile contest, then drew clear for the handy score as the odds-on favorite.

Bred by WinStar Farm, Five Star General is the second foal out of Party of Interest, a sister to the multiple graded stakes winner Criminologist.

Five Star General is Distorted Humor’s second stakes winner in as many days, and one his eight black type horses in 2019.
