Distorted Humor filly ‘Rules’ the Rampart (G3)

House Rules remained undefeated in 2015 stakes races with a confident 1 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Rampart S. (G3) at Gulfstream today.

She also became the 54th career graded stakes winner for Distorted Humor, who reigns as America’s #8 Sire this year, with progeny earnings already approaching $1,000,000.

In the 39th running of the Rampart, House Rules was bumped at the start, but quickly attained a stalking position outside of horses. Moving up to challenge near the quarter pole, she opened a clear lead through the stretch, and held her  lead to the wire. The final time for the mile on the main track was 1:36.93.

This was the second consecutive Gulfstream stakes win at a mile for House Rules, following her 9 1/4-length romp back on January 2nd. Bred by El Catorce & WinStar Farm, she has amassed a record of 5-3-0 and $374,413 in 14 starts for owner Joseph Shields and trainer Jimmy Jerkens. House Rules was ridden in both her stakes wins by Javier Castellano.

Sire of 127 lifetime stakes winners, Distorted Humor is standing the 2015 season for $100,000 live foal.
