Final Final lost the lead then regained it in the last strides of her maiden special weight win on the grass at Golden Gate Fields on Nov. 1. The 2-year-old filly is the eighth winner from Daredevil’s first crop of runners.
Remarkably, Daredevil’s winners have come at eight different tracks, on three continents, on three different racing surfaces, and at distances from 5 1/2-furlongs to 1 1/16 miles.
Final Final was never worse than second in Friday’s one-mile race taking the lead in upper stretch, then getting headed by Music Icon before reclaiming the lead just yards from the wire.
The winner is owned by Sharon Broetzman and was bred in Kentucky by Keene Ridge Racing LLC and is out of Career Fair, a half-sister to Grade 1 winners Victory Ride and River Flyer.
