Fire With Fire heats up Fitzsimmons Mile H.
Sunday, January 19, 2014
Distorted Humor's Fire With Fire found the Turf Paradise grass course to his liking on Saturday, scoring a game neck victory in a three-way photo in the $75,000 Cotton Fitzsimmons Mile H., the third stakes win for the newly turned 5-year-old.

Trained by Neil Drysdale for long-time client David Heerensperger, Fire With Fire is a graduate of Win
Star Farm's popular “buy WinStar” program that regularly offers top-class horses at auctions throughout the year. Fire With Fire sold for $290,000 at the 2009 Keeneland September Yearling sale. He has gone on to win three stakes, hit the board in 17 of 29 starts, and earn $395,354 to date.

Fire With Fire is out of the multiple stakes-placed mare Cosmic Fire, who has also produced the top-class turf horse Cosmonaut, two-time winner of the Grade 3 Arlington H. and a pair of other Grade 3 races.

Fire With Fire is Distorted Humor's second stakes horse in the first two weeks of 2014, with 3-year-old Kristo running a game second in last Saturday's Sham S. (G3) at Santa Anita, a solid performance that will keep the colt on the Kentucky Derby (G1) trail.
