Gemologist filly wins second race in three weeks

Schema scored her second straight win on Feb. 23 at Turfway Park with a front-running tally in a one mile allowance contest.

The well-bred daughter of Gemologist won by 2 ¾-lengths on Friday, just three weeks after winning a maiden special weight over the same track and distance on Feb. 2.

Gemologist has already accounted for 21 individual winners this year, second-most of any Third-Crop Sire. The WinStar stallion was a top-10 Second-Crop Sire of 2017 by both winners (60) and progeny earnings, with $2,886,287.

Schema is owned by Serjeant Equine and was bred by Farfellow Farms. She is a half-sister to two-time stakes winner Bajan, and her stakes-placed dam Critikal Reason is a half-sister to Kentucky Oaks (G1) winner Lemons Forever.
