The Under Tack show for the June 14-17 OBS June Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age sale has been a showcase for Gemologist’s first crop.
For the second time during the breeze show, Gemologist had the fastest worker of the day, the latest on Wednesday when hip No. 789 went a co-fastest :21 1/5 for a furlong. The colt, consigned by Thoroughbred Champions Training Center, is out of Ruthian and a half-brother to millionaire and seven-time graded stakes winner Rutherienne.
Gemologist, whose 2-year-olds have averaged $145,241 to date, fourth-best among freshman sires at the sales, has a total of 14 lots in next week’s auction.
