Golden Ticket prevails in $100K Left Bank S.

Golden Ticket out-gamed a pair of foes in a three-way photo to take the $100,000 Left Bank S. Sept. 5 at Belmont Park, the third career stakes win for the 5-year-old Speightstown horse whose bankroll now stands at $1,329,090.

Golden Ticket was well behind his four foes for the first half of the one-mile trip, then began to cut into the half-dozen length deficit under Joel Rosario on the turn. Forced to go very wide coming into the stretch, Golden Ticket inched closer through the stretch, getting to the front inside the final sixteenth, then held off both Pants On Fire and Integrity to secure the win.

The final time on a fast track was a very good 1:35 flat.

Winner of the 2012 Travers S. (G1), Golden Ticket has now hit the board in 17 of 28 lifetime starts, including ten times in stakes. He is one of five millionaires by Speightstown, who has 11 stakes winners and $6.4 million in progeny earnings in 2014.

Golden Ticket was bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm and sold for $100,000 at the 2011 Keeneland Two-year-olds in Training Sale.
