Grade 1 winner Hog Creek Hustle set for Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1)

Overanalyze’s Woody Stephens S. (G1) winner Hog Creek Hustle drew post 2 in Saturday’s $2 million Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) at Santa Anita Park. The 3-year-old colt is Overanalyze’s second Breeders’ Cup starter and is his sires’ lifetime leading earner.

Overanalyze is a top-10 Third-Crop sire in 2019 with 72 winners and eight stakes horses to date.  WinStar announced his 2020 fee at $7,500 stands and nurses.

Hog Creek Hustle earned his way into the 10-horse Sprint with his Stephens win, as well as getting beat just a nose in the H. Allen Jerkens S. (G1), when he beat fellow Sprint competitor Shancelot, then was beaten just 1 1/4-lengths in the Phoenix S. (G2), his first race against older horses.

Hog Creek Hustle is owned by Something Special Racing and was bred by Hargus & Sandra Sexton and Silver Fern Farm. He’ll be ridden Saturday by Mike Smith, the all-time leading Breeders’ Cup jockey.

The Sprint is race 8 on Saturday, with a post time of 2:36 p.m. PT.
