Harlan’s Holiday 2yos keep winning

The 2-year-old winners by Harlan’s Holiday keep coming, with a pair of juvenile colts breaking their maidens at first asking on July 27. Harlan’s Holiday ranks third among all sires of 2-year-olds, with seven winners to date earning in excess of $300,000, including the stakes winners Shanghai Bobby and American Sugar.

Park City showed plenty of grit to win a five furlong contest at Saratoga against seven maiden special weight foes. Breaking fairly alertly to be away in fourth, Park City was forced very wide coming into the stretch before wearing down the leaders and pulling away for a one-length win in :58.55 over a sloppy racetrack.

Trained by Todd Pletcher for Starlight Racing, Park City was a $165,000 purchase by his owner at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select sale.

Zeewat rolls by 7

Zeewat dominated his competition at Santa Rosa, drawing off to win the 5 1/2-furlong contest by a facile seven lengths in his first lifetime start. Trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, who co-owns the colt with George Todaro, Zeewat was bred in Pennsylvania by Derry Meeting Farm. Hollendorfer bought the colt for $50,000 at Keeneland’s September yearling sale.
