More Than Ready filly cashes in with Wait a While S. win

Stretching out beyond six furlongs for the first time, Consumer Credit scored a decisive 3 3/4-length victory in the $75,000 Wait a While S. Saturday at Gulfstream Park. The 2-year-old filly is the 16th stakes winner of 2014 for More Than Ready, who his nearing the $6.5 million mark in progeny earnings this year.

After sitting a couple lengths off the leading along the inside, Consumer Credit made the winning move at the top of the stretch, coming around two foes to win by a widening 3 ¾-lengths. The final time on the firm turf was 1:36.64.

“She was real easy to ride,” said Edgard Zayas, aboard for the first time. “She did anything you wanted her to do, and that’s why we got a winner.” 

Consumer Credit is now 2-1-0 in four starts and has earned $106,545 Klaravich Stables and William H. Lawrence.
