More Than Ready filly stays undefeated with Grade 1 win

Perfect Reflection took the $1 million Kingtston Town Classic (G1) by a nose Saturday at Ascot in Perth, Australia for her fifth victory in as many starts. The daughter of More Than Ready, owned by her breeders Bob and Sandra Peters, was the first 3-year-old filly to win the race since its inception in 1976.

Going 1,800 meters (about 1 1/8 miles) on heavy turf, Perfect Reflection took over the top spot with a furlong to run, the held off stablemate Delicacy to finish the course in 1:53.78.

“I didn’t mean to [go too early], the horse I was following wasn’t going that well,” said jockey William Pike I presented her and she was going that well and I just rolled with the flow. She waited a bit out front, I wish Delicacy had come to me a bit sooner, as I had plenty to offer.”

Perfect Reflection is the fourth stakes winner out of Grade 2 Western Australia Oaks winner Reflected Image.

Winner of a Grade 3 and Listed stakes earlier this year, Perfect Reflection has now earned $870,950 Aus. She is one of More Than Ready’s 12 black type winners this year. She also had the distinction of becoming her sire’s 150th lifetime stakes winner with her victory in the Nov. 14 W.A. Champion S. (G3).
