More Than Ready's Uni (GB) sets track record in Aqueduct's Plenty of Grace S.
Saturday, April 14, 2018
Uni, winner of last year's Sands Point S. (G2), was at the top of her game in Saturday's $100,000 Plenty of Grace S. at Aqueduct, covering the one mile on the turf in 1:33.42, besting the course record by nearly two seconds.

More Than Ready had a stakes double on the Aqueduct card when Black Stetson took the $100,000 Bridgetown S. in another track record performance.

Uni was an even money favorite and the 4-year-old filly did not disappoint. Sitting in third for the first six furlongs, Uni unleashed her kick in upper stretch and went by Stallion Heiress in mid-stretch to win by a length.

"She just shipped up to me about a week ago, so all the legwork was done in Florida and they did a great job and she showed it here today," said Whit Beckman, assistant to trainer Chad Brown. "We didn't really have any instructions coming into the race, just to let her break, get comfortable, leaving it up to Irad and he did the right thing. We're happy with the result and looking forward to what she can do the rest of the year as well."

Uni began her career in France, where she won two stakes, before shipping to the U. S. in mid-2017. She placed in both the Belmont Oaks (G1) and Lake Placid S. (G2) before winning the Sands Point. Her record now stands at 4-3-2 in 11 starts with earnings of $514,893.

The winner is owned by Michael Dubb, Head of Plains Partners, Robert LaPenta and Bethlehem Stables.
