No Distortion cruises to Hanford Memorial S. win

No Distortion, winner of last year’s Long Branch S., chalked up his second career stakes victory on Saturday at Delaware Park when the 4-year-old son of Distorted Humor took the $50,000 Carl Hanford S. by a comfortable 2 ½-lengths.

Racing in the colors of his breeder Brereton C. Jones, No Distortion moved from fifth to first while three wide on the final turn, then drew off in the stretch to win handily in 1:43.90 for the 1 1/16-miles on a fast track (VIDEO).

No Distortion is now 4-3-2 in 17 starts, with earnings of $188,665.

The winner’s dam, Pacific Spell, is also the dam of the multiple Grade 1 winner and 3-year-old filly champion Proud Spell.

Distorted Humor’s progeny earnings in 2017 have capped the $3.7 million mark, led by the likes of Honorable Duty, winner of the New Orleans H. (G2) and Mineshaft H. (G3), stakes winner and graded stakes-placed Sonic Mule, and Grade 1-placed Comicas.
