Outwork filly hammers for $500,000 Monday at Fasig-Tipton New York Preferred sale
Monday, August 12, 2019
Outwork set the record for the highest price ever paid for a filly by a freshman sire Monday at the Fasig-Tipton New York-bred Preferred Yearlings sale when the team of All About the Girls/JCS Racing Travis Durr went to $500,000 for a filly by the Wood Memorial S. (G1) winner.

Consigned by Denali Stud, agent, hip No. 495 is out of the Tiznow mare Light and Variable, whose two foals are the British stakes winner Bye Bye Hong Kong and Our Country, a 2-year-old son of Constitution who broke his maiden by six length Aug. 3 at Saratoga.

Unraced Light and Variable is a half-sister to Adirondack S. (G2) winner Nonna Mela and Schuylerville S. (G3) runner up Nonna Madeline. This is also the same family as Grade 1 winners Bluegrass Cat, Rhythm, Super Saver and Girolamo.

Prior to Monday, Outwork's highwater 2-year-old mark was a $300,000 colt at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky July Sale
