Paynter filly gets first stakes win in black type debut

A Bit of Both cruised to a three-length victory in the $75,000 Game Face S. Saturday afternoon at Gulfstream Park, the first stakes start for the 3-year-old Paynter filly.

In her last three starts, A Bit of Both has been on front at every point of call while winning by a combined 16 lengths. Owned by Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables, Darsan Inc., Bethlehem Stables and Simo, the bay filly is now  4-1-0 in five starts and has earned $130,610.

In the seven-furlong Game Face, A Bit of Both did have trouble at the start, but recovered very quickly to take command. Rolling through the first half-mile in :45.19, she opened up her lead to five lengths before gearing down late to coast under the wire in 1:23.77.

A Bit of Both is the seventh black-type winner for Paynter, who ranks second by winners and fourth by progeny earnings on the 2019 Third-Crop Sire list. Her dam, Lizzie K, is a half to GSW/GISP Globetrotter.
