Pioneerof the Nile colt hammers for $195K at Kee Jan Day 1

Last year’s runaway leading Third Crop Sire Pioneerof the Nile had a solid beginning to the 2016 Keeneland January sale when a yearling by the WinStar stallion brought a winning bid of $195,000.

The price was the second-highest paid for a yearling colt during Monday’s opening session.

Burleson Farm consigned hip No. 56, which went to B T Bloodstock. The Kentucky-bred colt’s dam, Flatscreen, has four foals to date, including the Grade 3 winner Native Bombshell.
