Pioneerof the Nile filly cruises by six in $100,000 Summer Colony S.

Catch My Drift put it all together in Monday’s $100,000 Summer Colony S. to win the 1 1/8-mile contest by a widening 6 ¼-lengths as much the best in the first stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Pioneerof the Nile.

Trained by Chad Brown, Catch My Drift has had some tough luck in her career. She was beaten just five lengths in last year’s Alabama S. (G1) and was a closed second in the 2014 Turnback the Alarm (G3) as well.

Off since late June, the dark bay filly seemed to appreciate the freshening as she dominated the Summer Colony field. Tracking in third for six furlongs, she quickly took command entering the stretch and drew off to stop the timer in 1:48.72 on a fast main track.

Catch My Drift upped her record to 4-2-0 in nine starts and has banked $240,540 for owner Hidden Brook Farm. She was bred in Kentucky by Fred Hertrich and John Fielding.

Pioneerof the Nile has been the leading Third-Crop sire and top-five General Sire all year with the success of Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, who is undefeated this year and is scheduled to make his next start in Saturday’s $1.6 million Travers S. (G1). Pioneerof the Nile is represent by seven graded stakes horse this year and has over $7.1 million in progeny earnings.
