Pioneerof the Nile sires $300,000 colt at Saratoga

Young progeny by Pioneerof the Nile continue to impress horsemen worldwide, as his lone Saratoga Selected yearlings brought $300,000 and $200,000.

Both yearlings were sold during Tuesday evening’s second session, August 6th. First up was Hip 85, a colt out of Littleprincessemma. Just the ninth horse in the ring, this bay sold to Ingordo Bloodstock for $300,000. About an hour later, Hip 120, a filly out of European Classic winner Silvester Lady (GB), sold to John P. Fort for $200,000.

Four yearlings from the second crop of Pioneerof the Nile have sold this summer, for an average price of $215,000 – nearly 12 1/2 times the stud fee at conception.

Pioneerof the Nile is Kentucky’s Leading Freshman Sire, with four winners from nine starters, and progeny earnings in excess of $150,000. He stood the 2013 season at WinStar for $15,000 live foal.
