Pioneerof the Nile yearling sells for $260K

With a winning bid of $260,000 a colt by Pioneerof the Nile was one of the top six sellers at the Fasig-Tipton July Sale on Monday at the central Kentucky auction house

Hip No. 19 was consigned by Gainesway, agent. The winning bid was placed by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, LLC. The colt is out of the Silver Deputy mare Honolulu Heat, who is a half-sister to the Canadian stakes winners Northface and Honolulu Gold. The family includes champion dual classic winner Afleet Alex.

Pioneerof the Nile’s strong showing followed with another six figure colt later in the sale. Hip No. 131, consigned by Taylor Made Sales agency, brought an even $100,000 from Sheikh Abdullah Almaddah. The colt is out of the unraced Miswaki mare Sing for Joy, a half-sister to two-time stakes winner Joyful Ballad.
