Play StableMates' Saratoga Challenge Now!
Friday, July 12, 2013
WinStar Farm is pleased to announce the launch of the first annual WinStar StableMates Saratoga Challenge contest. The Saratoga Challenge is free for racing fans, easy to play, and offers unique prizes.

Part of WinStar’s StableMates initiative for fans, the Saratoga Challenge allows each participant to pick who he or she thinks will be the leading trainers, jockeys, WinStar sires, and freshmen sires at the upcoming Saratoga meeting, which kicks off Friday, July 19th at the historic track in Saratoga Springs, NY. Each participant will be allowed to choose three names from each of the four categories, and the goal is to accumulate the highest number of total Wins among the 12 selections through the end of the Saratoga meet on Sept. 2nd. As a tiebreaker, participants are asked to predict the opening day crowd next Friday at Saratoga.

Elliott Walden, CEO of WinStar Farm, sees the Saratoga Challenge as another step in WinStar’s broad desire to engage with ever more racing fans and Thoroughbred enthusiasts through the WinStar StableMates website.

“Saratoga is widely considered the best racing meet of the year, and it’s one that both horsemen and fans really get excited about every summer. We are hopeful this contest can add to that excitement,” said Walden. “The best of the best show up at Saratoga, whether it’s at the lowest of claiming levels or highest of prestigious Grade 1 races, so competition is stiff. It’s also a place where two-year-olds and freshmen sires emerge as stars of tomorrow. WinStar is thrilled to be able to offer a contest for the fans that rewards those who can best identify the trainers, jockeys, WinStar sires and freshmen sires that will have the most Wins at this year’s meet.”

Prizes will be awarded to the first five finishers. First place will receive two lower-level tickets to a University of Kentucky basketball game this December, a VIP tour of the farm, a WinStar gift basket, and a complementary Grade 2 membership to WinStar StableMates for the remainder of 2013. The runner-up will receive a VIP tour of the farm, a WinStar gift basket, and a complementary Grade 3 membership to WinStar StableMates for the remainder of 2013. The third-place finisher receives a VIP tour of the farm, a WinStar stallion hat prize pack, a Colonel John stallion halter, and a complementary Grade 3 membership to WinStar StableMates for the remainder of 2013. Fourth place will get a WinStar stallion hat prize pack, a Pioneerof the Nile stallion halter , and a Camera membership to WinStar StableMates for the remainder of 2013. And fifth place will receive a WinStar stallion hat prize pack and a Camera membership to WinStar StableMates for the remainder of 2013. For more details on prizes, visit the contest website.

Fans must enter by a deadline of Thursday, July 18th at midnight, and select three of each among the categories for trainers, jockeys, WinStar sires, and freshmen sires, as well as the opening-day attendance tiebreaker, to play the Saratoga Challenge and be eligible to win the prizes. Entry is quick, easy, and free to play. Only one entry per person allowed. Fans can register to play today at www.winstarstablemates.com.
