Purely Hot is 50th SW for Pure Prize

Purely Hot was pure class, drawing off to a 5-length victory and spearheading an exacta for her sire in the $60,000 Satin and Lace S. on June 9th at Presque Isle Downs.

With the commanding win, Purely Hot became the 50th stakes winner for her sire, WinStar stallion Pure Prize, who also sired the runner-up, Dr. Diamonds Prize.

Purely Hot entered the stakes off a victory at Presque Isle on May 27. In the Satin and Lace, she stalked the pace early, circled three wide, and took command at the 3/8 pole, drawing off with each additional furlong. Purely Hot stopped the teletimer in 1:03.22 for 5 1/2 furlongs over the main track.

Purely Hot was bred in Maryland by Dr. and Mrs. A. Leonard Pineau, and races for Tuozzo Racing LLC. She has amassed earnings of $194,710, from a record of 20-9-2-3. Previous stakes winner Dr. Diamonds Prize boosted her earnings to $239,403, off a record of 21-5-5-3.

Pure Prize has sired 21 stakes horses already this season, 10 in the northern hemisphere and 11 in the southern hemisphere. The son of Storm Cat is standing the 2013 season at WinStar for $7,500.
