Rebranded romps in second straight stakes

Rebranded, a 3-year-old colt by Tiznow, decimated his opponents in the $50,000 Ruidoso Thoroughbred Derby on Sunday, rolling to a 12 ¾-length victory in the 1 1/16-mile contest.

The result was similar to the Colorado Derby six weeks ago when he won by nearly an identical margin. His overall record of 4-3-1 in 12 starts includes three stakes wins and $231,010 in earnings for owner Tony Pennington.

Tiznow’s runners are having another strong year in 2014, collecting some $5.6 million in earnings and winning nine stakes, including Brooklyn Invitational S. (G2) winner Norumbega and San Juan Capistrano S. (G2) champ Big Kick.
