Reynaldothewizard works magic once again in Dubawi S.

Making his first start since last March, the incomparable 11-year-old son of Speightstown Reynaldothewizard captured the third straight running of the $175,000 Dubawi S. Thursday at Meydan Racecourse in the UAE.

Reynaldothewizard, who has raced in Dubai for the past seven seasons, used the entire Meydan stretch to overtake Muarrab in the final strides, winning by a half-length in 1:10.66 for the 1,200 meters (about six furlongs).

“I think there were plenty of people riding him home there tonight,” said Richard Mullen, who has ridden Reynaldothewizard in all his starts since December 2010. “To keep coming back year-in and year-out, it’s a testament to everybody in the yard.”

Reynaldothewizard’s ultimate target during the meet will like be a return to the Dubai Golden Shaheen (G1) in late March, a race he won in 2014 and finished fourth in the past two years.

The winner is owned by Zabeel Racing International Corporation. His record now stands at 11-2-3 in 27 starts, with earnings of $2,173,290. He is Speightstown’s all-time leading earner and is one of seven millionaires by his sire.
