Multiple Group winner Slow Pace added the Group 3 La Coupe S. at Longchamp to his accomplished resume on June 10, giving his sire Distorted Humor his fourth Graded or Group stakes winner of 2013.
Campaigned by breeders Wertheimer & Frere, the 5-year-old proved best in Monday’s 1 ¼-mile event on turf, finishing a neck in front of his rivals at the line to earn his second win of the year. Trained by Freddy Head, he increased his earnings to $332,627.
Slow Pace, who is out of the stakes-winning Seattle Slew mare Slow Down, also became the sixth overall stakes winner so far in 2013 for perennially leading sire Distorted Humor.
