Speightstown 2yo runs to first stakes win in $150K Hall of Fame S.

Full Salute’s professional-looking victory in Saturday’s $150,000 Hall of Fame S. at Parx had the look of better things to come for the 2-year-old son of Speightstown.

The top-five sire now has a dozen black type winners this year, with seven of them coming in graded stakes, including the nation’s top sprinter Rock Fall, winner of today’s Vosburgh S. (G1).

Full Salute, who previously placed in both the Tyro S. and Sapling S., was right on the heels of pacesetter Formal Summation through a half mile, then went to the front under the guidance of Paco Lopez and was in hand late as he hit the wire a length in front of Bird of Trey (VIDEO).

Full Salute is now 2-3-0 in his five starts and has banked $149,120.

The winner is owned by Morris Bailey and was bred in Kentucky by Lakland Farm. Full Salute is the first foal out of the stakes-winning mare Mazucambera.
