Speightstown colt fetches $500,000 at F-T Midlantic

Leading sire Speightstown had a two-year-old colt hammered down for $500,000 on Day 2 of the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale for two-year-olds in training Tuesday, May 24th in Maryland.

Purchased by David Ingordo, the dark bay colt was bred by Branch Family Trust and consigned by the McKathan Brothers, who had purchased the promising racing prospect last year for $175,000 as a yearling at Keeneland September.

Out of the multiple stakes-winning Indian Charlie mare Czechers, the colt represented the third highest price of the sale by a colt, and fifth highest overall.
