Speightstown colt hammers for $300,000 Wednesday at Fasig-Tipton October sale

Speightstown had one of the top colts during Wednesday’s session of the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings sale when Frank Brothers, agent for Starlight Farm, went to $300,000 for hip No. 1018.

Consigned by Summerfield on behalf of Stonestreet Bred and Raised, the colt is out of the stakes-placed Kafwain mare Peggy Jane and is from the family of Canadian champion Dynamic Sky.

Speightstown is once again in the top 10 on this year’s General Sires list, with 116 winners and 11 stakes winners to date. His nearly $9 million in progeny earnings has already surpassed his 2018 total. WinStar recently announced that Speightstown will stand for $70,000 stands and nurses in 2020.
