Speightstown colt hammers for $350K at Fasig-Tipton July sale

Top sire Speightstown had the third highest-priced offering to sell at Tuesday’s Fasig-Tipton July sale, with trainer Ken McPeek, agent for Fern Circle, paying $350,000 for the chestnut colt consigned by Bluewater Sales, agent.

Cataloged as hip No. 338, the colt is the first foal produced by Por Que’ Te Quiero, an unraced daughter of A.P. Indy whose dam Sensation won the Astarita S. (G3).

A regular name near the top of the General Sire List, Speightstown’s runners have earned nearly $4 million to date this year, with nine stakes winners, including a pair of Graded winners in the past two weeks.
