Speightstown gets 11th stakes winner in 2012

Leading sire Speightstown continues to enjoy a fantastic year, as Munnings Sister – a full sister to the brilliant sprinter Munnings, as her name suggests – became her sire’s 11th stakes winner already this season. The 3-year-old filly captured the $55,000 California Wine S. at Pleasanton Saturday, June 23rd.

Munnings Sister now owns three wins from six starts in her young racing career for owner and breeder Charles Fipke and trainer Tim McCanna. The chestnut filly has earned $74,800. Her brother Munnings won a trio of Grade 2 stakes before retiring to stud.

Speightstown ranks as a Top 5 General Sire in North America through the first half of 2012, approaching $4 million in progeny earnings.
