Book One of the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling sale has been very good for Speightstown, none better than on Thursday, when a colt by the WinStar stallion garnered a final bid of $750,000, his top result during the auction’s first week.
From the Warrendale Sales consignment, hip No. 915 went to China Horse Club and Maverick Racing. The regally-bred colt is out of Fiftyshadesofhay, a four-time graded stakes winner of over $1 million.
Book One wrapped up with Thursday’s fourth session of the sale. Speightstown had a total of 17 lots sell for an average of $286,470. The auction continues on Saturday and runs through Sept. 23
