Stakes momentum continues for Pure Prize

Guanay captures the Omnium H.

The 4-year-old filly Guanay (ARG) gave WinStar stallion Pure Prize his third stakes horse of February with a length and a half victory in the $112,000 Omnium Classic H. at San Isidro, Argentina’s top racing venue.

Besides Guanay, earlier this month Pure Prize’s Girlie (ARG) won the Grade 2 Juan Shaw S. in her native country, while Be Bullish placed in the $75,000 Hollie Hughes S. at Aqueduct. Pure Prize is also the sire of leading Kentucky Oaks (G1) candidate Pure Fun, winner of the Hollywood Starlet (G1) on Dec. 8.

Guanay, who placed in the Grade 3 Republica Oriental Del Uruguay S. in late December, is owned by her breeder Martinez de Hoz. The first foal out of her dam Clamps (ARG), Guanay is 4-1-1 in six starts.
